Jackie Chen's Hole in One Celebration tournament

Dear readers

Our member Jackie Chen had a hole in one at Joondalup Golf course on 21 May 2017.

To celebrate, he invited the ACGA members and several of his close friends to a friendly match fully sponsored by Jackie.

The players had a free game and dinner at Joondalup Golf course on  27 July 2017.

There were over 30 players.

The eventual winners were:

Nearest the pin : Winston Yu and Ken Zhang.
Longest drive:  Sean Grogan for men.
Mens Champ: Martin Wong with a gross score of 75. He also won $500 cash.
Ladies champ: Lina Cui with a gross score of 99. She won $500 cash.
Encouragement award went to May Han who had 121 as her score.

There was also a challenge between the ACGA top 8 players against another golf association called Chong Yuan Golf Club invited by Jackie. ACGA won with a net score of the top players at 499 against Chong Yuan's nett score of 520.

It was very generous of Jackie and we hope he gets another hole in one soon.

Photos will be uploaded as soon as I get them from Jackie's son. There was also a drone operated by Jackie's son with great shots but I have yet to upload the pictures.

2017 Rongqiao Golf Cup

Dear friends and golfers

The next ACGA tournament is the Rongqiao Cup. It will be held on 27 Aug at Araluen Golf Club. Dinner will be at Canton Bay Restaurant in Northbridge. Please register early if you wish to play as spaces are limited.

Results of the 5th Tan and Tan Lawyers Golf Tournament

There was concern a few days before the tournament as the weather forecast was for a thunderstorm. Luckily the weather held and the players had a great hot Autumn day of golf.

The Gosnells Golf Club was challenging. There were 41 players pitting their skills for the trophies.

The following winners were announced:

Nearest the pin Hole 14: Thomas Kim

Nearest the pin Hole 9: Martin Wong

Ladies longest drive: Sophie Chen

Mens longest drive: Martin Feng

Ladies winner: Susan Zhang with 91/64

Runner up: Sophie Chen with 105/67

Mens winners:

1st Tony Huang with 92/67

2nd Matt Posa with 80/68

3rd Darren Chen with 92/68.

Looks like they are due for a handicap cut.

Congrats to all of the winners.

There were also lots of lucky draw prizes for the dinner guests.

I am sure all the players enjoyed the day and the dinner. The next tournament is in May at Araluen. See you all there.

Tan and Tan Lawyers 5th Annual Golf Tournament

Dear friends

It is here again. Tan and Tan Lawyers are now holding their 5th Annual Golf tournament. This year we are going to challenge the players at Gosnells Golf Club. There is space for up to 60 players. First come first served. There are only motorised buggies for 38 players. So get in your registration early.

Dinner will be held at one of our member's restaurant at Thornlie. Josie who owns Lok's Kitchen will welcome us with her hospitality. Andrew Chai will provide music for the night. This will be a great golfing day and an even better night. So register asap.
